Clarksons’ annual Charity Giving Day reaches record levels of fundraising

The 2022 Clarksons Charity Giving Day was back with a bang in September with new levels of generosity and participation from employees globally. The whole day gave focus to raising money for The Clarkson Foundation and provided several ways that staff could take part and contribute. Globally, more than £250,000 was raised for the recently established foundation, setting a new record for the annual event.

“Survival of the Fittest” saw a gruelling three rounds of “45 seconds on/15 seconds off” rep-based exercise circuit, with 177 staff across 18 teams in eight global locations pushing themselves to the limit to complete as many lunges, burpees, kettlebell swings and press ups as possible. Individual teams raised donations through their own JustGiving pages, and internally staff were able to place bids on who they thought would win, all with the common goal of raising money for The Clarkson Foundation. Live video streams between the global offices and count-down timer added to the competitive atmosphere and ensured everyone could be a part of the action.

Later in the evening, the London event space transformed from a hot gym floor into a black-tie gala dinner venue to play host to The Clarkson Foundation’s first ever charity auction. Employees from across each of the divisions attended the event, purchased raffle tickets and entered bids to win some very generously donated prizes; from weekend breaks in the UK countryside to ski trips in France, with 100% of the proceeds going to the foundation.

The 2022 event saw a milestone in terms of the amount of money raised. Commenting on the success of the day, foundation trustee Lily Bagshaw said: “On behalf of all of the trustees, I’d like to extend a big thank you to the Clarksons staff – we are immensely proud of the positive impact that has been made to date, but this years’ generosity will ensure that the foundation can continue to make a meaningful difference by funding even more inspiring causes next year and beyond.”

For Clarksons, the event is a fantastic example of how the business lives its values and leads positive change. Jeff Woyda CFO and COO of Clarksons says: “The charity giving day is just one example of how Clarksons creates an environment that enables our people to take positive action, to help others, and make a difference for the greater good – it is an ethos that we all share globally, and brings us together as a team."

Increasingly, I receive messages which relay how important, and incredible the charitable work we are doing is, and that the name ‘Clarksons’ is one that is associated with giving back.

The Clarkson Foundation was born out of the embedded values and generosity of the Clarksons’ people. Its aim is to create meaningful, lasting change around the world through effective grant giving.
