Chinese seaborne specialised products imports 2014 (mt)
From a complex chemical derivative to simple molasses, our Specialised Products team helps move a hugely diverse range of cargoes, each with its own individual carriage requirements. The sheer diversity of the market calls for a wide knowledge of each and every product and vessel type.
As global demand for household goods increases, the need for specialised products to feed the supply chain rises. These include petrochemical liquids like methanol, gases, clean and dirty oil products and lubricants, vegetable oils (such as palm oils), biofuels and molasses. This tremendous range of specialised products requires specialised vessels, from small units to large and sophisticated chemical tankers with the capacity to transport 20 or more different products from many different shippers in custom-designed, stainless steel, double-skinned tanks. At any time one of our team might be fixing cargo for a 1,000 dwt river barge, whilst another could be organising a parcel to be carried on a highly advanced, multi-grade 45,000 dwt fully stainless steel carrier.
The core Specialised Products team's strength is to deliver global reach with a personal touch. Through our global office network with more than 120 expert staff we service a wide range of customers from multinational corporations to smaller niche market participants.
As the demand for specialised products has grown in recent years, our team has expanded rapidly - both organically and by acquisition - and has increased more than ten-fold since 2005. Today, we are by a considerable margin the largest team in the sector, offering our clients an unrivalled service.
Our business is generally comprised of four distinct charter types: spot fixtures; Contracts of Affreightment (CoAs); timecharter; and bareboat charters.
Our brokers rely upon our dedicated analyst team with their expert insight into the complexities of the Specialised Products market.
