Clarksons' gas activities are global in their scope and cover all aspects of this fast-developing sector. Principal areas of operation include chartering, sale and purchase, newbuilding contracts, LPG cargo brokerage and consultancy. They are handled by our teams of highly professional brokers, supported by a qualified and highly experienced analyst.
Three Clarksons offices currently handle gas, led from London, which has involvement in all areas of the business. The London team are widely regarded as the leaders worldwide in LPG and ammonia chartering. Clarksons Houston specialise in LPG cargo brokerage in the key American markets, whilst Clarksons Singapore handle small ship LPG and petchem chartering requirements in the East.
A dedicated Petrochemical gas group specialise in vessels of up to 12,000 cbm, maintaining close contact with the Singapore office. Clarksons' LNG activities are handled by a separate specialist team.
LPG cargo brokerage is an important and complementary service offered by the group, with dedicated brokers in London serving both Eastern and Western markets, where we work closely with our Houston team.
Project and consultancy work are specialities and are undertaken for a wide group of international clients from across the industry.
Clarksons' leading position in freight derivatives has led to active efforts on behalf of the Gas team to develop the fledgling LPG Forward Freight Agreements (FFAs) market.
