London Beach Rugby Tournament

On Friday 31 July 2015 a small but select group of Clarksons' sports stars battled it out on the beaches...of Finsbury Square.  Participating in the third annual London Beach Rugby Tournament in aid of Help for Heroes, the team was comprised of David Hackett, Chris Symes, Fred Engelbach, Nick Robson, Ed Devenport, Gareth Watson, Max Allen and Josh Newton. Olise Yadi also took part in what is most aptly described as a cameo role - the 180-second lung-busting debut proving too much.

Some superb sand-based skill and sheer strength combined with tenacious team work, grit and determination saw the team improve on last year's Plate semi-final qualification and sail into the Cup quarter-finals against the Help for Heroes team. The tension was palpable as our own heroes gave it their all but sadly the dream ended in defeat.

In spite of this, a great day was enjoyed by all and the team spirit remained high as the evening wore on and the team, beers in hand, promised to return even bigger and better next year. A special mention must go to Specialised Products' Nick Robson, who not only scored on the pitch, but also as winner of the event's "Blind Date" competition -  he looks forward to his romantic trip to Belgium with a member of the London Beach Rugby cheer leading team.
