What is a Shipbroker?

Shipping is a complex global industry and essential to the world’s economy. Shipbrokers play an important role within global trade, acting as intermediaries who negotiate the rates and terms between shipowners and charterers for the movement of goods around the world, as well as between the buyers and sellers of ships. Successful shipbrokers are industry experts, with strong commercial acumen. They are entrepreneurial and astute at identifying and developing innovative approaches and ideas. Fundamentally, shipbrokers are natural networkers and relationship builders who enjoy working with people. They continually collaborate across teams to stay up to date in order to deliver the best possible service and results for their clients.
