Clarksons and Stegra work together to drive long-term sustainable shipping strategies

Share

Clarksons is Stegra's exclusive provider of shipbroking and maritime advisory services. Stegra is a Sweden-based industrial company developing a green steel plant in Boden. Through the production of green hydrogen, green iron and near-zero-emission steel, Stegra aims to help decarbonise heavy industry.

Since 2023, Clarksons has been providing consultancy and shipbroking services to Stegra, developing sustainable shipping strategies and fixing COAs for the transportation of inbound raw materials and outbound products.

We’ve worked with Stegra since 2023 advising them on long term shipping strategy, freight and green shipping solutions. It’s super rewarding to be an integral part of a project that will drastically lower CO2 emissions in heavy industry and we look forward to the years ahead.

Dry Cargo, Broker

Clarksons' Dry Cargo and Short Sea teams provide specialist consultancy services focused on vessel selection, route optimisation, fuel efficiency and emissions performance across Stegra's sea transportation.

By combining Stegra's ambition to transform heavy industry with Clarksons' global maritime expertise, the partnership is helping to create a shipping framework that balances commercial efficiency with sustainability considerations.

The collaboration demonstrates the increasingly important role shipping and logistics play in supporting companies as they build more sustainable supply chains. As industrial businesses continue to evolve their operations and reduce emissions, strategic maritime planning will be critical to ensuring products can move efficiently and responsibly.

Together, Stegra and Clarksons are developing practical, long-term shipping solutions that support sustainable industrial growth and demonstrate the value of collaboration across global supply chains.
